What is a Career in Regeneration?
What is Regeneration?
Regeneration is about transforming neglected or deprived places, neighbourhoods and communities. It’s about making a positive difference to those living in a regeneration area - things that make a real difference – jobs, buildings, the environment, health, skills, business, and housing.
Regeneration doesn’t happen by chance, it requires visionary leadership, negotiation, finding solutions to complex, interlinked problems. We’re talking high level skills, graduate skills.
Would regeneration suit me?
If you are the kind of person who is interested in communities and places, and how to improve them, think about regeneration as a career. Any degree can be relevant as regeneration covers such a broad range of activities. The beauty of a career in regeneration is that you won’t be put in a box and expected to work in one profession.
What kind of jobs are involved in regeneration?
It’s a diverse field, with opportunities in design, community work, property development, project management, finance, local government, planning, health, community safety, skills and much more. It takes many people with different skills to change places and transform lives: variety is definitely guaranteed!
